2023 Toronto Brain Bee

The 25^th Annual Toronto Brain Bee competition took place at the Medical Sciences Building at the University of Toronto on April 14^th, 2023. This was the first in-person Brain Bee competition since the pandemic. 41 students from 24 high schools in the Toronto area participated in the competition with 70+ registered. 18 graduate student volunteers and two faculty members were involved in organizing this successful outreach event. Over 100 people attended the event.

The top winners were: Avin Sharma (Sir Wilfrid Laurier Collegiate Institute, first place), Aidan Wang (William Lyon Mackenzie Collegiate Institute, second place), and Veda Aditri Gadde (St. Brother André Catholic High School, third place). As the first place winner, Avin will represent Toronto at the 2023 CIHR Canadian National Brain Bee Competition, which will be held on May 19-20, 2023.
